Volunteer Opportunities

We are currently accepting volunteer applications for our upcoming Health Geography conference in April!

Conference session moderator

Conference session moderators will facilitate the oral presentation thematic sessions by ensuring speakers are on time and hosting the question and answer period. Session moderators will be required to attend one 1-hour meeting two weeks before the conference and moderate one 1-hour session on the day of the conference. All session moderators will be listed as official conference volunteers and receive free registration.

Conference Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee will oversee the academic and scientific goals of the conference including abstract review and organization, administration of student awards, conference program, and moderation of sessions. This committee will meet biweekly and the bulk of the workload will take place in March before the conference takes place. Some volunteer opportunities on the date of the conference include moderating sessions. We are accepting applications until Feb 15th and will offer a volunteer position to 5 students (undergrad and graduate are both eligible). All volunteers will receive free registration.

Conference Technical committee

The Technical Committee will oversee the logistic and operations goals of the conference including book and facilitating event space, AV, food and refreshments, printing materials, registration and more. This committee will meet biweekly and the bulk of the workload will take place in the weeks leading up to the conference, and on the day of. We are accepting applications until Feb 15th and will offer a volunteer position to 5 students (undergrad and graduate are both eligible). All volunteers will receive free registration.
